Day 61 of 365

He Does Not Despise Your Pain

“For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.”

Psalm 22:24 (KJV) |

What This Means for You

Psalm 22 starts with the cry Jesus quoted on the cross: "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" But by verse 24, the truth comes through: God has not despised or hated the suffering of the afflicted. He has not hidden His face. When you cried to Him, He heard. Your pain does not disgust God. It moves Him. He does not look away. He leans in.

Try This Today

If you have been suffering in silence because you feel like your pain is too much or too messy for God, read Psalm 22:24 out loud. Then say: "God does not despise my affliction. He hears me when I cry." Believe it, because it is true.
