Day 177 of 365

The One Who Comforts You

“I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;”

Isaiah 51:12 (KJV) |

What This Means for You

God declares: I, even I, am he that comforteth you. The repetition matters. I, even I. Not circumstances, not people, not your own willpower. God Himself. And then He asks the question that reframes everything: why are you afraid of a man who will die? Your fears are often about things that are temporary. Your God is eternal.

Try This Today

Write down one thing you are afraid of right now. Then ask yourself: 'Is this fear about something temporary or something eternal?' Let God's eternal comfort shrink the temporary fear back to its real size.
