Day 225 of 365

Worship in Spirit and Truth

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

John 4:23-24 (KJV) |

What This Means for You

Jesus told the Samaritan woman that God isn't looking for worship in the right location. He's looking for worship from the right place inside you. Spirit and truth. That means honest, unperformative, from-the-gut worship. God would rather have your messy truth than your polished pretending.

Try This Today

During worship today, drop the performance. If you're tired, tell God. If you're grateful, show it. If you're struggling, say so. Let your worship be the most honest conversation you have all week.
