Day 325 of 365

Sins at the Bottom of the Sea

“Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”

Micah 7:18-19 (KJV) |

What This Means for You

Micah asks a stunning question: who is a God like you? A God who pardons sin, passes by transgression, and does not stay angry forever. Then the most vivid picture: He casts all our sins into the depths of the sea. Not the shallow end. The depths. Gone. If God threw it that far, stop diving back in to retrieve it.

Try This Today

Write down one sin or failure you keep picking back up. Crumple the paper and throw it in the trash. Tell God: 'You put this at the bottom of the sea. I am leaving it there.'
