Day 195 of 365

Run with Your Eyes on Jesus

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJV) |

What This Means for You

The race of faith is not a sprint. And the writer of Hebrews says the secret to finishing well is not willpower or discipline alone. It's focus. When you keep your eyes on Jesus instead of your circumstances, you find the strength to keep going one more step.

Try This Today

Identify one 'weight' that's been slowing you down spiritually (a habit, a grudge, a distraction). Write it down and tell God: 'I'm laying this down so I can run lighter.' Take one concrete step to let it go today.
