Day 236 of 365

Pain That Produces Something Good

“Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.”

Hebrews 12:11 (KJV) |

What This Means for You

Discipline never feels pleasant while it's happening. The writer of Hebrews is honest about that. But afterward, it produces the peaceable fruit of righteousness. The hard season you're in right now is not pointless. Something is growing in you that couldn't grow any other way.

Try This Today

Think of a past hardship that eventually produced something good in your character. Write it down. Then write: 'God did it before. He'll do it again with what I'm facing now.' Keep it where you'll read it this week.
