Day 241 of 365

Give and It Comes Back to You

“Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

Luke 6:37-38 (KJV) |

What This Means for You

Jesus connects giving with receiving in a way that makes spiritual math different from regular math. When you give grace, you get grace. When you forgive, you're forgiven. When you're generous, it comes back pressed down and running over. Love is the only thing that multiplies when you give it away.

Try This Today

Practice three acts of 'giving' today: give someone the benefit of the doubt, give an unexpected compliment, and give away something (a meal, a gift card, your time). Watch how your own heart fills up in the process.
