Day 310 of 365

Roots That Reach the Water

“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (KJV) |

What This Means for You

A tree planted by the water does not panic during drought. Its roots run deep enough to find what it needs even when the surface looks dry. That is the picture God paints of a woman whose trust is in Him. You do not have to be anxious about the dry seasons because your roots are reaching something the surface cannot see.

Try This Today

Identify one area of your life that feels dry or uncertain right now. Spend three minutes in prayer specifically about that area, asking God to be the water your roots are reaching for.
