Day 364 of 365

Do Not Despise Small Beginnings

“For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.”

Zechariah 4:10 (KJV) |

What This Means for You

The people looked at the small, humble temple foundation and were discouraged. God asked: who has despised the day of small things? Your small beginning is not a sign of failure. It is a sign that God is at work. Every oak tree starts as an acorn. Every great work starts with one faithful step. Do not despise yours.

Try This Today

Think of one small thing you have started that feels insignificant: a prayer habit, a conversation, a new skill. Thank God for the small beginning and commit to one more week of faithfulness in it.
