Day 229 of 365

Honest Prayers God Honors

“And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.”

Mark 14:36 (KJV) |

What This Means for You

In the garden, Jesus prayed the most honest prayer in history. He told God exactly what He wanted: take this cup away. And then He surrendered: not what I will, but what You will. You can tell God your preference and still trust His plan. Both are allowed in the same prayer.

Try This Today

Pray an honest prayer today using this pattern: 'God, here's what I want: [be specific]. But I trust You even if the answer is different. Not my will, but Yours.' Let yourself feel both the honesty and the surrender.
